Our Journey

Founded in 2015, Jimmyjey Barbershop began as a small, two-person operation. Jimmy, along with his first employee, embarked on a mission to offer high-quality grooming services with a touch of classic barbershop charm. Located in Masters Plaza, the barbershop quickly became known for its exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere.

Gradually, Jimmyjey saw steady growth. By 2017, the team expanded to four employees, necessitating a move to a larger space. This year marked a significant milestone as Jimmyjey gained recognition on the Churchill Show, winning the accolade for the best barbershop. The team was celebrated for their charitable efforts, particularly for providing free shaves to kids on the streets.

In the same year, Jimmyjey Barbershop also clinched the 1st runners-up position at the Nakuru Hair and Beauty Expo, a prestigious event sponsored by Philips Kenya. The award came with a trophy and certificate, further cementing Jimmyjey’s reputation for excellence.

Since its inception, Jimmyjey has been committed to giving back to the community, engaging in various charitable activities. By 2019, the barbershop had grown to eight employees and six working stations, prompting another move to a more spacious location. This growth trajectory continued, and by 2022, Jimmyjey relocated from Masters Plaza to occupy an entire floor at Stone Plaza, employing over 25 people.

Today, Jimmyjey Barbershop offers a comprehensive range of services under one roof, including a salon, spa, and soon, a college to teach aspiring students. The hierarchy within the business has evolved, with a team of managers ensuring smooth operations.
